What can Clinical Hypnotherapy help with?

 

Clinical hypnotherapy is a structured, goal-focused therapeutic approach that may support meaningful change within a relatively short period of treatment. Cognitive Behavioural Clinical Hypnotherapy combines principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Clinical Hypnosis, helping clients work with unhelpful thoughts, emotional responses and behavioural patterns.

It may support:

  • changing persistent automatic behaviours and unhelpful beliefs

  • personal development and self-improvement

  • strengthening coping skills and emotional resilience

  • developing greater confidence and self-controlPsychological and emotional difficulties

Clinical hypnotherapy may be helpful as part of a wider therapeutic plan for:

  • panic attacks

  • specific phobias, such as fear of flying, driving, insects, medical procedures or childbirth

  • depression, where appropriate and alongside relevant professional support

  • emotional or compulsive overeating

Clinical hypnotherapy may also be used as a complementary intervention, alongside appropriate medical assessment and treatment, to support:

  • stress and symptom management in people living with chronic or autoimmune conditions

  • coping with tinnitus and reducing the distress associated with it

  • psychogenic erectile difficulties, following appropriate medical assessment

Clinical hypnotherapy does not replace medical or psychiatric care. Its suitability is assessed individually, and it is used with informed consent as part of a personalised therapeutic plan.

How do we achieve our goal?

Within the safe framework of clinical hypnotherapy, we work with the deepest subconscious in a state of deep relaxation, changing established patterns of information, emotion, attention, and behavior with a direct impact on our everyday lives.

In the sessions we work on 2 levels of the mind, the conscious and the unconscious. On the conscious level by applying cognitive behavioral psychotherapy techniques and on the unconscious with clinical hypnosis, taking advantage of the increased neuroplasticity of our mind in this state, consolidating and strengthening the work with ourselves on the subconscious level.

Within the sessions you will receive personalized instructions on how to continue working with yourself outside of sessions.

You will receive the personalized recording of the hypnosis that took place during your session, so that you can work through hypnosis at home but   and with self-observation exercises, changing your dysfunctional thoughts, as well as relaxation and anxiety and stress management techniques.
